I've been mapmaking, off of PMC, for a long time. Only recently have I actually started uploading my maps, I used to just set them up as servers for my friends/family and me to play on as I knew nobody would be playing my maps anyways. This new map is the third addition to the QRF series (the second uploaded to PMC), a series based on massive interactive laboratories, research centers, and pretty much any kind of game related to obnoxiously theoretical science.
I plan on this map being the biggest, largest, and most beautiful map I have ever created. Currently, the idea I have in my head is there will be two modes, Casual and Insurgence. The casual mode will be similar to my previous map, where you just run the reactor and that's basically it, requiring only one player to do it. The insurgence mode will be a team versus team match, the QRF vs the Insurgence. The QRF is made up of scientists who run and manage the reactor, and security guards who protect the scientists from the insurgents trying to shut down the reactor as fast as possible. The insurgents have to try and stop the reactor from running, and the faster they stop the reactor the more points they earn, the insurgents will be equipped with weapons and explosives to knock down barriers and blow up their opponents. Security guards will be armed with flashbangs as well as weapons. There will be a K/D ratio system (no way to calculate assists without tearing my hair out), the K/D ratio will award each player points as well as how fast they can stop the reactor or if they can keep the reactor running for a full 20 minutes (time limit not decided yet).
The elevator in the attached video took me about one and a half days to learn how to build, complete, and optimize. Even though I believe it is fully optimized I still get less than 10fps on my 3080 if the elevator moves for too long without stopping.
