Villager AS [artificial stupidity, because real stupidity just wasn't stupid enough]
The screwball coordinate system: MC originally had the sun rise in the north which made +|+ NE as one would expect. Because of pushback Persson cahnegd it to rise in the east, but did so by renaming the directions rather than 'fixing' the issue — hence the screwy counterintuitive coordinates.
(Y for vertical, rather than Z, seems to be another of these legacy kluges)
