Hey, I am currently working on a large project that has taken a long time and i am almost complete but i need ideas, i need help coming up with Egyptian type statues need to look ancient but I'm not sure how I'd go about it.

A GIANT STATUE OF A CREEPER!
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.

use the barrier block in 1.8 snapshots to hold the sand up
You could make a really cool statue if you put vines on the bottom of the sand blocks to hold them up
I like the statues idea
Sphinxes, Cats, Anubis, Eagles, and Pharaoh's heads were always common in Egyptian times due to their relation to the mythological aspect of Egypt. You could probably replicate any of them if you had the time, but you might need a LOT of space. If you preferred it, you could probably just used sandy pillars as the statues instead.
