Command block I NEED HELP PLEASE

For our upcoming project we need a command block system that will give you xp for items like iron, gold, diamond, ect. I've seen systems that will give you items for xp but not the other way around. PLEASE HELP

Wrong way around xD

We already figured it out thxs though
You can use the command /xp (number) @p in command blocks to directly give xp to players. This command block can be activated by putting and item in a chest with a comparator aiming into the command block and a hopper underneath the chest to remove the item into a hidden chest or something.
You could put anything in it and we already solved it thxs though
i have two ideas,one with MCedit and other with command blocks:
-MCedit: a villager that trades items for xpbottles
-command blocks: you place the command block with the command"clear @p[r=whatever you want] (item id) 1",a comparator and another command block with the command "xp -(the levels you want) @p[r=a little bit more than the other]"

If you don't have the item in you inventory it will give you the xp anyway

IF you evenly distribute a stack and 18 iron into the dispenser you wont be able to.
An idea I have, (this is for iron ingot) lets say for one iron you get 1 level of XP. You toss an item into a hopper, the hopped then sends it into a dispenser, connected to a comparator, it then generates a signal to cause a command block chain that gives you 1 level of XP and then sends the iron into a chest.
