I've seen several one command block mods all around the MC community. There are tons of tools that do it for you, but I don't get how to use them. Like... I'm just so confuzzled. Can anyone explain this to me?

you can make only one command using mcedit and MrGarreto's One Command Block Generator. Go check his channel https://m.youtube.com/user/JustMrGarretto .

MCEdit isn't complety necessary but it helps. It's a matter of using the {Command} data tag when using the setblock, fill or blockdata commands. And have the command to set another command and so on.
