Hi everybody!
I'm new to this forum, and I hope I'm in the right section. Some days ago I was trying to make some sort of vertical-transportation-thing, and I came up with this elevator.
It's a really simple and fashionable design, that is really resource friendly (apart from the slime blocks) and very reliable. It's extremely fast (average upwards speed is around 9.4 blocks per second) and compact. I suggest that you check it out!
[btw, in case you are wondering, in the video the "speed test" part is sped up, it's not your impression ]
Here is the video, along with some screenshots and the world download!

After messing with an idea my friend gave me I just jerry rigged a safe fall with water at the bottom of the elevator. It's not necessary because you can just fall onto the slimeblock at the bottom safely but you can hold shift and fall straight into it and you wont bounce on the slime block or take fall damage. A dumb idea that just adds to the amount of resources but something funny to try.

I messed with a floor selector function on it as well but then i realized how impractical that actually is considering it is an up only elevator. I had a design that worked but i think the higher you go the less reliable it was. Needless to say I just scrapped the idea and kept the original design

Thanks! I just figured out that my design can be compacted even more!
I'm now shooting a new video to show it off. I expect to upload it soon... hopefully

It's a great and simple design! I just built this to test it out and I cleaned up the redstone for the button a bit but that's not necessary at all. Works great and appears to even be SMP friendly at least on a small scale which is a big deal for a lot of people. I also noticed after the fact in your screenshots something you didn't do in the video but we both figured out is to just run the redstone line that activated the jumper into a furnace instead of a 3rd piece. Saves on redstone and looks nicer. Well made
