Wireless Network
Hey, so I was recently messing around in my sketchbook world (MCPE) with my little brother, and we came up with what I think is an interesting concept: wireless “telephone” lines with snowballs. We found that by chaining together poles with target blocks and dispensers on top, we were able to relay a redstone signal with snowballs.
After research, we discovered that the Max distance between each pole is 17 blocks (otherwise the snowball wouldn’t hit the target block), but a nice benchmark is 1 chunk (16 blocks). It is possible to save 10 redstone dust per chunk, as otherwise you’d have to run 15 dust + a repeater. The current expense of making one “Telegraph” pole is 5 redstone dust (4 for target, 1 for dispenser). So it’s very cheap.
Do you guys think this could have practical implications in a survival setting? It would take a heck of a lot o’ snowballs, but with a snow golem farm it wouldn’t be that difficult to maintain.
PS. It’s super satisfying. You have no idea.

I did something very similar to that but with arrows! I agree it was super satisfying lol
idk if it would be useful in survival but I used it in creative mode to make a mechanism that sent items from a "post office" to one of 2 houses (I could have added more but I was lazy lol)

It would be cool looking but it wouldn't be too practical. Redstone is cheap and fast, snowballs are slow. You could also put some extra time and resources into 0-tick repeaters and make an instant signal across a long distance.
