I'm requesting CONSTRUCTIVE criticism

I want criticism on my 1st truly-shaded skin. It's hard to get noticed here, especially when you are a Level 5 posting at 4:00 in the morning. I generally don't like criticism, as I skin for fun, but one of the fun things about it is getting better.
Not too long ago, I thought I hated shading, but I really hate hyper-shaded skins, so the shades are a bit subtle.
Here's the skin: View Dawnshade (Original Character) (SHADING TEST!!)
Oh, lastly, ignore my old "shaded" skins, because that's not shading, that's gradient.

UPDATE: Made my 2nd shading test, the shading's definitely more noticeable, but it keeps the subtlety I like. I tried something more advanced, as this is a skin I wanted to make since I first felt that I was good at skinning, because nobody had a skin of him.
Here it is:
View Ben T. Looney (Shaded Version) (SHADING TEST 2!!!)

And an un-shaded version to compare it to:
View Ben T. Looney (Unshaded Version)

UPDATE 2: Made another shaded skin! This time, I think the shading is perfect!
Here it is!
View ~κϝ©~ Tasogare Rumi (Original Character) (Shaded)

And un-shaded version for comparison!

I don't think there is all that much noticeable shading. I'd make it slightly darker.
Edit: I hate PMC on mobile devices

I'd say this is potentially constructive.

I would suggest making the shading stronger like many others have said. i would also suggest on you reading some skinning tutorials.(not trying to be rude)

Make the hair slanted instead of a swoop or solid side of head maybe. like
x=no hair color
o= hair color

For the second picture, I suggest that you kind of fix up your shading on the hoodie. It seems like you're just adding random specks of darker and lighter shades of that colour. Try and make the shading seem more... Round..? I dunno, I can't explain it.

Well, the 3rd ones not bad. I can see some good shading, but I would recommend strengthening it, because often shading looks stronger than it is, when you are looking at the actual .png. I would also recommend you work on your colour, and shade selection.

It needs more shading.

It's obvious that you like HYPER SUPER ULTRA SHADING TURBO, and have done it to the point where you can't see more subtle shading, but I don't like that shading.

I don't to ultra shades, your "shading" is so light I can't even see shades.

I just use a style that you don't like, and can't see. Oh, and did you see the 2nd and 3rd skins? I'd understand feeling that about the 1st one.

It's better on the later ones, but still too hard to see. It often looks stronger in the editor, than it does on the skin.

The later designs where much prettier than the first. You could barely see the shading. I know what you mean by how you don't like uber shading, but you have to accent the skin in the right spots. Like where the body and legs connect, body and arms connect, and the body and head connect. And if you really want your skin to look original put in basic highlights that is slightly lighter than the hair color.
Edit: the last one looks great. Just experiment with different accents.

Well your shading needs to be stronger
[as said before]

And I think you could do something different with the eyes and the hair

Look at the 3rd one. It's perfect, considering I like subtle shading better than large amounts.

Bump because I made another one! This is probably the last I will put on this thread, because it's everything I ever wanted out of shading.

use a bit more difference in your colors also on places that you want to appear to pop out more try to make those a bit lighter. and as one last thing you may want to look at a tutorial for hair shading it would improve your shading a bit

Well for the first skin, I would say your shading definitely needs to be stronger, but it also has some bad design on it. The hair on the side looks funny. You might also want to work on your color selection.

The second skin definitely looks better, but your colors are a bit off. And it needs more shading. If your not sure where to shade, try to think, where the shading would go, if it was actually 3D.

This may sound like a lot of feedback, but we all need it, in order to improve. I've taken a lot myself.

This skin just strikes me as plain.
There seems to be only 3 colors when I look at it, but there are obviously more than that.
You need to make parts on your skin kinda pop out a little

It's supposed to be plain, it was a shading test. But as for the parts popping out, I see where you're coming from.

I know what you mean. Also, being level 2 making skins like I have and creating skins and watching videos staying up all night, I know how you feel. I'm somewhat picky with diamonds, so I diamonded just for sympathy.

I also do not like skins that are too severely shaded, but I would shade a little bit more, because it is not very noticable. Look at my skins, if you dont like that much shading, disregard my message.
