Animations not working?

Ok so I was very excited to find out about the whole animation thing 1.5 but when I went to try it out it didnt work the block that I made an animation for would just say "texture missing". I even tried downloading a texture pack with animations to see how it was made and I had it right and the texture pack would do the same thing. I made sure I am in 1.5.1 and I was using paint.net does that matter?

How do you do it on ubuntu?
The same... texture packs are all built in the same format no matter what OS you have.
You need to include a .txt file with the same name of the file that is supposed to be animated.
I have animated textures in my pack and I'm happy to help. Please let me know if that fixes the problem.
