Armor Textures Not Working In Game (fixed)

lol i fixed it i was being dumb and made a mistake
So I'm working on my resource pack, and I started working on armors, but for some reason the texture isn't working.
This is how the texture should appear so far
and here it is, not working in game
all folders are named and properly placed and in the right dimensions, and this has never happened to me before

Unrelated but you use Blockbench? I use really outdated Novaskins XD

yeah, its a convenient texture editor besides model making

I assume you've tried but maybe reloading with f3+t, and armour textures are 2 parts maybe just the layer number is wrong? Hard to know exactly without a better look at the files though.
Was also unaware there was an optional outer layer on the helmet.
I doubt any of this will actually help tho :/

yeah everything is reloaded and named right, blockbench gives you the proper name files for the template
and apparently there is a second helmet cube, yeah

I think the second helmet layer could be the problem. You can't change armor models because of how Minecraft renders them, even with optifine.

If you do it in Blockbench it may not work correctly

There shouldnt be any additional .json file you need to add either, sorry mate I'm all out of ideas. :/
