Dear texture pack creators

I don't get the problem.. Applying shaders makes it look nicer = attracts more ppl. People can then decide if they like the textures. It's not like the shaders would turn one side of the block yellow and the other side black. You can clearly still see the textures. It's just enhancing pictures. And even if it would only look good with shaders, which I highly doubt, you can still just download the shader mod and use it so it looks better. I am a texture pack creator and I don't use shaders but I use 3D Models with my textures. You can still see the textures very good. I don't agree with this. Using shaders is just a good way of selling your product.

If the texture pack is actually good, they shouldn't have to add mods to make it look better! I don't download texture packs in which the creators use GLSL shaders etc

As a texturepack-creator I agree with your point.
If shaders are used you can see the textures only by looking very close (and THEN it's not 100% that you can see them good)

But you can use them as a featured image I think
(I hope I made my point clear.)

I get you're point. It just makes them look better. Just show the texture pack in-game. No edit. Express the true form of the texture pack.

I agree about showing it the way it really is. It doesn't disappoint!

Well If you want to make Minecraft more beautiful with texturepacks you might as well make it even more beautiful using shaders
+ Shaders is required if you're using bump mapping on your textures.

I agree as well, I think you should only use it for builds because like you said, when you put on a texture pack after it was being shown with the mod....you have that wtf moment.

If someone's computer is good enough to run shaders, why shouldn't they use them to increase the views they get? It's a resource meant to be used.
