So I have a computer running windows vista. I basically know how to install a texture pack. I've done it on my old computer but when I put the zipped folder in the resource pack folder, nothing happened. I've tried it with 3 different texture pack but they won't show up in minecraft. Does anyone have the same problem or have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

What resource packs are you trying?
Most of the time, if a pack (that's for the right version) doesn't show up in the game, it's because the pack has the wrong file structure. Try more popular/downloaded/legitimate looking packs to see if they work, and compare the contents of the .zip files of both, to see what the issue is.
They probably have folders at the root of the pack when they shouldn't have. If this is the case, tell the author to test their work, and that resource packs should work as a .zip, and that you should NOT need to unzip them to use the pack.
Additionally, make sure pack.mcmeta has no errors.

How do I tell? I just got the texture pack off of pmc a few days ago.

It may be my computer I can't install mods either.
Yea it has the pack.mcmeta
was the pack you downloaded missing pack.mcmeta if it is copy it out of another texture pack open it with notepad and change the description between " to what you want i hope this helped
And I made sure it was 1.7.4 just in case it had to be the same version.
