if you have google chrome, try going to the extensions store and look up Nova Skin. It is a skin and texture maker for minecraft
just watch tutorials on youtube which will take 10 minutes, rather than spend a whole day posting this on pmc and waiting hours for responses.
True... However, it is fine to ask questions about this stuff. If you never ask, you never learn!
of course but sometimes it gets annoying cause i see multiple posts that ask the same thing and all i think is, if you can get an answer on google why post it on here at all?
It is simply a matter of opening your eyes. The texture file is called textures, the mob file is called mob.
Yes, but he did not know where to find the files.
And for mobs, do step 1-8, then copy the 'mob' file instead of the 'textures'.
Then do 10-11.
Then do 10-11.
Here is how to easily make a TP for 1.5.1
(This is for windows)
1. go to home button
2. search 'run'
3.click run
4.search '%appdata%'
5. go to '.minecraft'
6. go to 'bin'
7. Do you have something like winrar or 7zip? get one of this using the all powerful Google. (I use WinRar.)
8. Open 'minecraft.jar' with WinRar/7zip
9. Copy the 'textures' file (Don't shut down winrar or you cant paste the file)
10. Paste on desktop
11. then edit the files. ( you can now close Winrar)
If you have any questions or need help, PM me.

Are you asking for a program to auto-generate textures for you ?
-not possible
Are you asking for a graphics program to allow you to edit the textures by hand?
-GIMP, paint.net, PS, etc.
Are you looking for an already made texture pack?
-just look around the texture packs section of PMC or use Painterly Pack for personal use.
Based on the information you've give us it's a bit difficult to figure out what exactly you're asking for.

Well why didn't you just say that.
As far as I know, there are no editors made specifically for minecraft textures. The only way is to use an image editor like GIMP or Paint.NET. If you are having trouble figuring anything out, look for a tutorial or ask someone on the forums. There is no program that will magically do everything for you.

what do you mean you don't get the textures, if you mean you dont get how to set up a texture pack for 1.5.1 watch a video on youtube for it because it is pretty easy to set up a texture folder for 1.5.1
What's not to get? Each item now has it's own .png file - That's the only difference.
AND THE MOBS?!
They're in the folder, called "mob," as always?
Calm down.
Each mob has its own file, with the model completely flattened out. See this threadon MCF to get templates for all of them.

Whre is there file located?
i don't think your going to find any programs that are made exactly for minecraft, but gimp is in my opinion the best program to make texture packs. It has very useful features and i didn't even look up a tutorial for it, i learned on my own. For making 1.5.1 textures it is extremely simple to actually make the texture pack folder and stuff look up a tutorial for that, the only hard part is actually making the textures.
I have noticed that too.
I use photoshop 10 for editing things.

Are you asking on how to differences in packs from 1.4 and 1.5?
Don't use texture pack makers, they're terrible. As everyone else said, use Paint.NET or GIMP to make a texture pack.
There are some on the app store...but none for windows
There isn't any.....
As I said, I'm looking for a texture maker that is made for this! Thats let you create your own texture pack for 1.5.1.

Uploading packs containing painterly textures (or any textures you didn't create) will result in the submission being removed, please only use painterly for personal use.
If you are looking for a program to make packs you can upload, the poster above me recommended some good programs -- GIMP and Paint.NET
There are tutorials out there on making texture packs, it is much better to learn than to rely on a TP program (which you probably will not find regardless)
Here is a tutorial to get you started, Steelfeathers and levaunt have good tutorials when you are ready for more in-depth techniques
I'm lokking for a program directly made for this, because i don't understand the way you texture in 1.5.1

No. Just no.
@OP, Paint.NET and GIMP are your best options. I recommend Paint.NET if you're just starting out. If you're looking for an editor designed specifically for minecraft textures, I'm afraid I don't know of any.
anyone?
