So I have always wanted to create a texture pack but, I can't. I have looked through a lot of videos and they usually they have stuff you have to pay for or a different computer. Then one day I find a way to post a texture pack, but I decide not to post a texture pack. Now 1.8 came out and I want to post one.

If you know any good videos please post them in the comments!

use gimp or paint.net. They both support transparencies and can be used for making resource packs. Also adobe allows for 30 day free trials on any of their software with adobe creative cloud, so you can get the 30 day free trial of photoshop if you can manage to make the resource pack in that time. Another option that works and that I have used is adobe photoshop elements - it has the key components to adobe photoshop but is a little bit more simple and is a lot cheaper, i think i got it for around 60 dollars

I don't know any resource pack videos, but to make one i suggest Gimp. Also to figure out what to name the textures to make it look, I suggest just looking at other resource packs.
