New Sci-Fi Pack

Hey everyone. I'm kind of on a science fiction roll right now. Been reading Ender's Game and Hitchhikers guide, watching Star Trek and Doctor Who, and playing Halo 4. You know, the really deep, popular science fiction stuff. So, I've decided to work on a Science Fiction Texture Pack as an upcoming project. However, I've encountered some roadblocks. Many concepts have been done, some projects have a lack of material, and I overall am lacking inspiration. However, I do have some ideas.

Phantom-Craft
This was a very old project of mine. The Concept is a paranormal sci-fi apocalypse. Basically, the world is being attacked by these "Phantom Aliens," fairly sophisticated supernatural beings. The texture pack would ideally be set midway through this apocalypse. However, my original pack was 1.Boring and 2.Unoriginal. However, with the skills I've picked up on, I think I'm ready for a revamp of this idea.

UNSC Reclaimer
Halo type texture pack? Focused on terrain more than other Halo Packs, perhaps. I'd like to take advantage of Random-Mobs and create multiple ranks of elites, grunts, jackals and brutes. Was brainstorming making Wither enemies the flood.
Problem: Its been done by more experienced users.

Storm (Sci-Fantasy)
As many of you may know, Bungie is working on a new game titled "Destiny." Its a Sci-Fi fantasy type game. Even though we don't know much about destiny, the concept seems to be a perfect starting point. I was thinking about the idea of space travel with magic. At first it seems far-fetched, but magic would after all be the best source of energy. This idea might need some work though.
