So I updated my Minecraft to 1.5, and when I entered a world, I saw most of the textures were the defult textures. Does this mean I have to wait for the author to update the texture pack to the new format before its back to normal? Just wondering.

With the 1.5 update, the format for texture packs has changed. Texture packs that worked for 1.4.7 and previous will no longer work. To update your texture packs, go to this thread on Minecraft Forums and donwload MCPatcher. Open it up, and there should be a "Convert Texture Packs" button. Click this, select the texture pack you want to convert, and it will update it to the new format, along with all CTM and animations.
If there's no new items, the textures won't need to be updated.
If there is, the pack needs to be updated.
