Hello,do you still need hD programs to download HD texture packs after the 1.5 update,i saw something about texture pack support,was that it?

Patchers are not required for HD packs anymore. However, features like CTM and Random Mobs still require a patcher. It's your decision whether you use one or not, though using a patcher is highly recommended.
