A Quick question about making texture packs!
I remember using a texture pack a while ago (pre- 1.0 release) that had many different colors for mobs. there were 5 different zombie textures. Wolves were white, brown, grey, black etc. I've gone through these texture packs and seen the files. It just said things like WolfAlt1.png WolfAlt2.png. something along those lines.
Does this work? I'd really like different colors of mobs in my own texture packs. Anyone know how to do this?
Thank you

SpoodeefulI have never seen a texture pack using the format mobnameAlt#.png
But I do know that the MCpatcher (an HD patcher, etc) supports alternate mob skins in texture packs using the format mobname#.png
so if its a 16x16 pack and i just make the alt. colors and name them Zombie1.png, Zombie2.png, then use the mcpatcher it should work?
Yes it should.

If you use optifine, you can see these, make different mobs and title them 'mob(#)' with the name of mob, and number you want them to be. Hope I helped.
