Server Resource Pack

I would like to download Server Resource Packs (Mac OS X). So if I go to the Minecraft folder and then look under Server Resource Packs there is only one file but no folder or .zip file. And my question is how do I convert this file to a folder or a .zip file and play with it so I can find it in my resource pack folders and it works.

Add '.zip' to filename, extension will be changed then.

If it not work - open file as archive with 7-zip or other program and pack again the assets into zip
