Texture Pack Help

Hey guys! I just have a few questions about texture packs today. First of all, can I have more then one texture for an item that is activated when said item has a different name? Like for example, can I have it so a normal diamond has a different texture as another diamond named "Example"? Thanks for your help. Also, how do I make 3-d textures, what programs would I use (free ones only). Thanks guys!

I do not think that this is possible.

Why does it matter, you have to start somewhere and the original post is perfectly fit for this community.
On the other hand OP, I can't help you with that answer (sorry!)
Edit: Did not read about the 3d models, I can give you a suggestion for that. One of the most prevalent and simple 3d modeling programs specifically for minecraft is BDcraft's Cubik program. The free edition has limitations but in the full edition everything is unlocked. Yes limitations do suck, but it makes sense do to the programs capabilities.
