If I make a customized water and lava texure and use something like MCPatcher to change it in-game, is there any way I could make it change, like the default water and lava? Do I have to make a separate PNG, or edit one or something? I don't need explicit details like, "You have to color [these] pixels different from [those] in [this] pre-made file, or nothing will happen." I'll just mess around with it until I like it. But for now, I'd be content just knowing how I can. Thank you! ^-^

@Ennen Ew, that looks like a lot of work XD Thanks, I'll try it though. And I also wanted to know how to do the fire, so your picture helped a lot, actually. Thank you~!

@knuckles Yeah, I have it edited now, and each little square looks different in the terrain.png. I used MCPatcher, and static water and lava just have a still, un-changing texture. Flowing water and lava animates, quite nicely, too. I just wanna change it so the static image changes.

@Kalashi It's just a 16x16 ^-^ RetroCraft, if you wanna check it out. School started, so I haven't had time to update it since 1.1 DX Luckily, I don't have school for three more days, so I'm gonna update for 1.4.6 soon.

Or! you see in some texturepacks they got ''costume lava flow'' and that,
you can make one of those, you see every 16x16 pix are a picture, and you see that its a lot of 16x16 picture and none of them are the same, thats why it the lava change all the time.
and if you makin a 32x32 you need to make a lot of 32x32 waterpictures

Only if you want animated water/lava.
Editing the water and lava in terrain.png works just fine with mcpatcher, I've done it.

You basically need to create a separate custom terrain image.
If you look through a TP that has custom water/lava, you pretty much build off of those dimensions and tiles.

EDIT: This is a screenshot of the "Derivation RPG" files. You can see there are just different PNGs for different block animations (that are pretty much act as GIFs in-game)
