DEAD [OOC/applications]

It's the year 2067. The world has... changed. Ten years ago, something strange happened. One evening in december, the sky turned red. Bloody red. It is still unknown what exactly happened, but that night one billion people died. They just dropped dead. It didn't matter who or where, at random life just vanished.
Of course, this had some consequences. I never saw the logic, but I was only six when all this happened. Maybe it is adults logic, but a war broke out. Everyone was panicking, and in this panic a party named the Revolutionists raised. A lot of people put their trust in this strong party, but it got misused. The Revolutionists were an egocentric party, goaling to become the only one ruling the country. In an attempt to stop them, another party named The Peacekeepers was formed. Needless to say they were like water and fire. Not much later some Revolutionists assassinated a leader of the Peacekeepers. That was the burning match in the crate of fireworks. Before we knew it civil war broke out.

It is said before, there is nothing civil about a civil war. Even less about a world war. It was short, but fiery. In two years they threw every bomb they could find, and it is only luck they didn't get their hands on nuclear or atomic bombs. But, while everything was so busy fighting, something sneaked pass them. The entire reason they started the world war: the death of one billion humans. Those human beings didn't die for nó reason, we just couldn't find it. Something way darker was boiling just below the surface. Strange powers have infiltrated our planet. Both mutual and parasitical.
The mutual part attaches to living beings, altering them. The White Energy, as we call it, gives humans strange powers, in return we allow the energy to use us as some sort of hosts. Once again, this seems to happen at random.
The parasitic part doesn't need an host, it needs to kill living things. We call them Dark Energy Anomalies, or demons. It is unknown when it forms, or where. They can sustain themselves by taking all the energy from a living being, killing them. If it isn't stopped, it will grow stronger and stronger.

This is where the DEAD get involved. DEAD is an abbreviation for Dark Energy Anomaly Destroyer. We have to hunt down these demons, before they get too strong. Using our powers, we can destroy them before they destroy us.
The world hasn't really accepted both our and their existence. They just don't seem to understand the severance, going on with their lives as if nothing has happened. In the eyes of a normal human, DEAD are just as evil as the demons. We are strange, weird, not human. We are despised, hated, hunted like animals.

For all of those who are still out there; I really hope you will find your way to our organisation, we need all the help we can find.


The RP rules:

1) No god modding

2) Keep your character a bit rational (nothing wrong with a bit weird, but not like a 12 feet tall flying, laser shooting robot)

3) No swearing or insulting, everyone here is a (half-)human, threat them like that.

4) You are all part of the story, don't make the plot involve yourself only

5) You can have relationships but keep it polite, I don't need to read erotic stories

6) The recommended age is 15 to 30
