Dead Gears:A steampunk fantasy roleplay
Introduction:It has been many years since the rule of Tyrant Lord Nilas Edis was ended by a band of courageous heroes who rallied the people against his oppressive rule. Most people have forgot about the horrors of his rule.One cannot blame civilization though it was a really long time ago and most of the people who used to live in his empire have long since passed away. If there is one thing that civilization could be blamed for though is the creation of Novus. A utopia for a things living built right on top the the remains of the Capital of Nilas's empire. On the condition that you follow the rules is and don't go into the tunnels. Nobody knows why it is prohibited but the rumors are that expansions are being made to Novus and the government doesn't want the people to see them,some say they are building mana drills,last but not least some people think they are trying to keep something down there. Some people have even organized teams to explore the underground and find out what is down there. To make a long story short the government had those people killed. Even then the curiosity of the living will always persist eventually something will be found. Something that shouldn't be found something that will start a slow and horrible demise for all of Novus.

Rules (some are made to sound humorous to be more interesting also bold was used to put emphasis on things in the rules and to show the main highlights):
No OP characters! they just really tick people off seriously just don't make them.
No derailing of storyline! if you really want the story to go the way you want it to suggest it don't force it.
No upgrading! Yes this is a problem with roleplays (at least my roleplays) if you want to add anything to your character ask permission don't just give them dragon wings and timelord regeneration without asking.
No tantrums! again something I have had in my roleplays and has resulted in at least sixteen pages of two roleplayers arguing.
Romance is allowed but you must ask permission from the other roleplayer and you must keep it clean kissing is fine but no Sexuality.
Any race is allowed! it can be an Elf a Dwarf or something totally made up (a description must be made of the custom race's general appearance abilities and maybe a little bit of their history).
Realize that this is a roleplay with technology and magic don't be surprised when you fight mechas and people with rifles.
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS DON'T CONTROL OTHER PEOPLES CHARACTERS!
Make at least partially original characters I don't want Ezio running about killing Mario and Luigi.
ANOTHER REALLY IMPORTANT RULE IS ACCEPTORS AREN'T ALLOWED TO ACCEPT THEMSELVES!(sorry had a bad experience with that to).
Swearing is okay I guess if it's censored and not excessive.
As a bad app control variable Characters must have a last name and a backstory that is more than one sentence and must have relevance to the storyline
(exceptions can be made if you PM me).
In the anything else section quote anything from Lord of the Rings.
Make as many characters as you feel can be managed by you.
Remove the ()'s in the application.

I've lived so long that memories elude me quite frequently, however I do remember the cornerstones. When I first went underground it was to hide my research. Ah when I lived, those were the cursed days. People despised me for my 'research' or should I say, how I conduct my research. I was a promising mage in life, vibrant and full of life. That ended when Lord Nilas Edis butchered the entire enclave. I died there, not literally my boy, metaporhically. I lost my 'future' as a mage seeing the grim realitiy of death. So I fled hoping to solve that problem. I was chased from citiy to city and almost got myself killed in my search. Then I retreated underground, and there I found paradise. Yes my boy, paradise, an underground cavern filled with clean water and small edible critters. I carried my research in secret and lived in the underground, only going to the surface when I need a few things or information. In my research tested my first idea, why not only keep a few vital organs intact instead of the whole body. I tested this on a few of the surface dewellers. Facinating experiments, however they squirmed too much and left a large red stain on the table. Quite annoying. However saddly they kept on dying which hindered my research. I found salvation when I died. Hey, you don't get unnoticed after three villages suddenly dissappear and tracks lead to an underground cavern. I was caught and killed. However as you can see, I never died. Infact, I lived. It was because of a mistake I suppose during another experiment, testing something called 'soul binding'. Or was it 'soul preservation'? Nevermind but more importantly, I think thats what gave me my 'immortailtiy'. So why are you strapped down to this table. Boy, I am doing research. You think I stopped there? No my friend, I will keep finding more and more ways to cheat death. So what if the ten others before you have bled to death screaming? I've got to keep doing my research and 'give' to my employer. You see, I don't get all this stuff from scavenging, he provides it to me. And in return, I make him immortal soldiers. But I'll tell you a secret. You see this? This is my heart, ignore the smell. You can't killed me even if you tried because only certain magics can slaughter me. Which you ask? I don't know, but shut up so that the procedure can begin. So lets see.....do you want to be flesh or bone? It dosen't matter to me but I thought it would be thoughtful to ask.

In fact her great grandmother was one of the heroes that stopped Nilas and her parents being elves meant that they lived longer so she is one of the few that actually know of what happened long ago. She was the top student of many of her classes in school and has throughout her life developed an IQ of 250. She wondered about the tunnels in Novus throughout her life and now she has built a team funded by a professor at the university she studied in(They will be a character as well) and she herself trained for combat deep down in the tunnels and beyond.

Um you know that in the original post's story it says many generations passed which would logically be at least a thousand years which makes an age of 17 conflict with the story and well not to hate but cartoony ponies would kind of ruin the feeling......

After many years, he grew up, and found a job to locate problems in the smallest places. The factory was destroyed, and he was on his own again. Knowing he couldn't survive without his job, he took his $500k that he had worked up over the years, and formed an occupation that would see the world in a different way: The Observers
Appearance: Middle aged, black/gray beard that circles around his mouth, he wears a black jumpsuit and a black cape that is scarlet on the inside.
