I'm going to be making a tower from scratch in my backyard. I'm going to mount a ballista on it and use copper pipe to make a portcullis. There will be two single-room floors, the second one will be so we can raise the copper portcullis. Any ideas on anything else to add?

First, make sure you have the correct permits and authorization to build a tower in you backyard.
Second, make sure you have the correct skills and knowledge necessary to build a tower.
Third, a zipline from the top would be awesome, and perhaps a climbing wall up the side.
