My unnamed 2D game (Java)

Hello,

I have spent the last day making, and creating this terrible game. It's your average 2D platformer, yet buggy and 100x worse (graphically).
It's coded inside a JFrame, and uses my custom game engine.
I know how to code, but I can't art .
Anyway, you may be interested in some ScreenShots?

As you can see, it really thrives in the art side.
I will provide a download link once I fix some minor glitches movement.
If you are an artist, no matter how good (you are better than me) and are interested in helping, once it releases, open the folder and edit the image files, then post them here! I would love to see what you can make the game look like!

Thanks for reading, I will update this once in a while.

Edit 1:

Here is the download to bug city . Make sure to put the speed_data folder in the same directory as the jar, as that contains the assets!

Aye, no need for sarcasm haha
Just saying it's there, if you want any development help then I can help out but the point of it was just to say that it's quite easy to rebuild Java games in Javascript and put them online

I made a Game in Java a while back. I remade it in Javascript and now it's online here: http://adam.mygamesonline.org/

It's sort of a zombie type game, WASD to move, collect the yellow box for extra points!

Well, thanks for posting that, because that's really helpful in improving and suggesting ideas towards my game.

The gliding/sliding thing is pretty funny actually. I think if you went on even with this "crappy" art style you could have a thing such as like a timed game to find and press the button. Things such as obstacles could block your path and if you found a good enough group you could get pretty derpy sounds done. Make it a purposefully silly game. Just try to package the assets into the actual game ;p.

That's the point, I have no artistic skill / idea what to make. Sure, I can write the code but I can't do anything more.

The gliding is a glitch with some code that deals with movement states, it's fixable. The problem with the art style is the fact that it looks like a 5 year old made it it in Paint xD

I have just fixed movement, so I will upload the zip file that contains the assets and the jar file. That way you can edit the assets, in current / correct size, and then restart the game to see the changes!

Give me a few mins to upload the game.

I'll happily help! You can just tell me how many pixels some of the things are, and I'll happily help, or I'll wait for you to supply me a sufficent file of the work.
