Building a Minecraft Oriented Computer
Ok so I am building a computer that I want to be able to play minecraft, run a server, and do heavy world edit with out crashing my server.
I am currently using a Macbok Pro and it sucks. I lag out and can't do large world edits so it makes building large projects hard.
I was just wondering if anyone knew the specific technical require for THE BEST gaming/minecraft computer.
GPU, CPU, Ram, Power supply, Motherboard, etc. Make and model. The works.
If you could put the top two, one being the most expensive the other the best price for power that would be cool. I have friends who can build it for me I just need to know what to buy.

Make sure you put nvidia for the video graphics card
if you want 2 monitors you will need the nvidia and a cable for the screen
No, you won't, AMD and nvidia have their ups and downs. But that's fairly off topic here.
Any 'entry level' or 'low end' gaming pc will be able to run minecraft perfectly, 4 gb of ram is the absolute MINIMUM for this kind of system, but you will feel a big difference running multiple programs with 6 or 8 gigs.
Any cheapy amd quad core processor will work for this just fine, no need to shell out hundreds on intel.
Any gpu </= to an amd 6770 will run minecraft perfectly well.

Do you plan on playing games other than minecraft in the future?

Ok so i found some parts on part picker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1mlwr tell me if this is good

a gtx645 is enough to run minecraft over a 100 fps so get atleast that if you want a good experience.

I was going to do 64-bit anyway since its a bit better.
As for the graphics card:
Which nvidia? there are a ton.
And i don't need two monitors, just one is good for me

if you play single player you need a 64bit computer to make it run smoothly no lag and stuff
for the server this- Same thing 64bit pc and at least 4gb of ram
Make sure you put nvidia for the video graphics card
if you want 2 monitors you will need the nvidia and a cable for the screen
Note that it need really powerfull fans
and also for minecraft go check the download's page at the official mc website its in the buy page where you click buy minecraft for this accoutn then it will say 4 gb of ram or something.
os - windows 7
Well hope this helped

You could build this if you were willing to shell out 12K$, but that is crazy. I just put this together when I was bored, seeing what I would do if I had no budget for a computer.

That is a little too much money for him just to run Minecraft and a server...
For the op: What is your budget?

My budget is roughly $1k. I can go a little higher but not much. I just need something that will let me run a server and play minecraft at the same time while doing world edit.
