It'd be best if you don't max out your parts (eg. 4x 980Ti) because of NVidia's new line of GPUs and Skylake coming out that will destroy the current generation CPUs/GPUs.

We dont have a date on either, but the best would be to get an i5/i7 and 1x GTX 970, or if you want more power 2x GTX 970 or a GTX 980.

For the OS choice, you can always get Windows 8.1 and upgrade it. But I think if you wanna game on it you might want some good coolers.

There's no need to spend $6000, as it's really unnecessary. However, I did go a bit overboard - thinking towards the future. Included is a hexa-core i7-5820k, which will be great for everything you're intending to do. Also included is 8 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM, which should be fine for gaming and also when you retire the system it should still be the standard, as new RAM standards take quite a while to roll out. Cooling the CPU is a Cooler Master Seidon 240M, which is a great budget closed-loop cooler that will keep things nice and cool for that 140w CPU. I've also included a 970 SLI, which scales quite well and outperforms a 980 for a little bit more. Also thinking towards the future, I went with two high-quality storage options - a 2TB WD BLACK hard drive which will last you a good many years, and a 512GB Crucial SSD which will also last quite a while. Not only this, but the 750w 80+ PLATINUM PSU will keep your PC running very efficiently and the high-quality parts inside will ensure it's still chugging five years from now. The WiFi adapter included also supports the new standard of WiFi being rolled out, the ac standard. A nice 27" IPS 1440p monitor wraps up the bunch, which will be great to play games on with your 970s.

Without further ado:

Why try to future proof when you can spend the money you saved for the totl upgrades for the next few years?

why try to future proof now when you can keep upgrading to the top of the line parts over the next few years with the same amount of money.
