So, I'll be getting paid next month, and I'm planning on upgrading my heatsink of a cpu..

it's about time too...

And I already know what cooler I want, hyper 212 evo

What cpu+mobo should I get with $375 CAD? I won't be giving you my full budget because every recommendation I see go over the budget limit people request,, and I want to keep some money left over for the steam sale.. and to buy windows again

EDIT: looking at another thread I made for a friends, how's this combination? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/C9qxJx Looking over..at the motherboard.. i don't have ddr4 ram

I'd be shopping now, while the 980ti's and such are cheap, because they're going to go back up once the 10xx releases, because they're not as fast as people first made them out to believe. The 9xx series won't be cheap if you buy them new, unless they start to clear warehouse, like they did with the 7870 cards awhile back.

yeah, won't be able to afford that this month.. because the prices scratch the max i get paid for the cheapest cards

KillertoadNext i'd be upgrading that GPU.

i have plans to do that in 2 months, so i'm shopping around already... assuming the 10xx will be making the 980 and 970 drop in price, i mighty go for that.. if it drops low enough

this is all you'd need, and no need for the cooler, as you can't overclock this. Means more money for your games. Next i'd be upgrading that GPU.

I have the AMD A10 7870K, if you want to change to Intel, then getting a Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI ATX LGA2011-3 and possibly an i7 CPU. A decent i5 would work just as well unless you use CPU intensive programs like large rendering, solidworks etc

From personal experience (currently ) I would suggest "A10-7850k" & the "Asus A88XM-PLUS Motherboard".

i'd rather switch to intel over sticking to AMD, i like AMD, but it's not really beneficial enough
