GameMaker Help

i am trying to make a tower defense game, but i dont know how to make the player able to place towers. if you could include any code or drag and drop actions that are necessary that would be great. i have every other aspect of the game worked out.

i also need assistance on making them upgrade-able.

any help is highly appreciated.
