Hello!
My Windows 7 Compaq laptop is occasionally my gaming laptop.
However, I use a Mac Desktop too.
I usually get 60 fps tops on my desktop. *NO FULLSCREEN*
And I get maybe 50 fps on my laptop. *AGAIN NO FULLSCREEN*
I just wanted to know any tips on increasing my fps...
If you need the specs just ask...
***OPTIFINE IS INSTALLED***
Thanks!

My computer sucks, alot. 2 GB's of RAM and a 32x bit processor is enough said. However, I can get 60 fps on a good day. If you want the least laggy possible Minecraft, just set your stuff to this;
Graphics Fast
Render Tiny
Particles Minimal
Smooth Light OFF
Brightness Full
Max FPS
Then you can set Optifine to load chunks using the MultiCore option, it picks up chunk loading speed ALOT. Set game save time to every 30 minutes, and go into the particles section of Optifine and select, "Everything Off". Can't get faster than that.

OH YA! And go into the Performance section of Optifine, and turn grass, trees, water, lava, and whatever else is in there to fast, set sky and moon to off, and sun off, and finally, turn Fog all the way OFF.

Did you adjust to the following settings?:

- Performance: Max FPS
- Graphics: Fancy
- I prefer Render Distance set to Far, but Normal works well enough.
- View Bobbing: Dunno if it causes performance drops when on, but I keep it to on.

I play with mostly default settings on my Win 7 desktop I got from my church for $20, and I get upwards of 150 FPS in Single Player.

I've noticed Optifine doesn't do its job well at all; the only redeeming things about it are now included in regular Minecraft.

If you want to have more control over video settings and such, use SpoutCraft (http://get.spout.org). Its settings are really spread out to help you configure it to your needs.

Optifine's mipmapping is the main thing I like about it, currently.
