I am sorry to coming off as rude but his specifically has 4 physical cores but 8 virtual cores with hyper threading allowing you to use up to 8 threads, also with amd fx series 8 core processors they have a thing very similar to what i7's have

Go to ark.intel.com to find your cpu.
4 cores 4 threads i think
i7 has hyper threading for a total of 8 threads possible on the cpu.
