Minecraft Java VS Bedrock
The Long lasting war, of which minecraft version is better, will be settled here

IKR LOL
Minecraft is minecraft it's a pure enjoyment for anyone so I believe that both versions are equally as good.
very true, i agree
It's hard to judge this one, on the one hand bedrock edition runs better,
but Java edition has better mod support and you can load older versions and
even host older servers.
It's apples to oranges.
Bedrock edition players wouldn't have the option to revert to an older version if say, a future nerf resulted in destroyed equipment people earned legitimately in vanilla survival without hacking or commands.
It's possible that mending enchantment could face this fate someday, but if it does, bedrock edition users will be forced to put up with it while Java edition players could just host an older server that allowed people to farm any enchantment they wanted and use them how they pleased.

To further your statement of apples to oranges, Bedrock was built from the ground up to be as efficient and optimised as possible, so it could survive on as many (mobile especially) devices as possible.
Java was not designed with anything other than making a good game in mind, until the entire core game was finished.
2 variants with (currently) different goals in mind

Java edition also has the advantage of working on Linux based systems, it was this way even before Microsoft gained rights to the IP.
Bedrock edition theoretically could be designed that way, but because Microsoft wants to make as much money as possible they limit the Windows 10 edition to Windows 10/11 and Xbox platform only, with a few exceptions like the Nintendo Switch due to its popularity.
I assume this move was calculated on their part though, Microsoft wouldn't have the game ported to another platform unless they knew they were getting something for it in return, which makes sense.
Because not as many people use Linux there is little reason for them to release the client of bedrock edition on Ubuntu or some other Linux distros.
We do have Ubuntu based bedrock servers though.
