I've got my hands full with this one.
1. I can do textures no problem. All I need is a labeled grid to edit (like in Minecraft).
2. The Unity engine's great and all, but also very weak. I'm a tad worried how well it'll handle infinite world generation and rendering.
3. Alas, I cannot test this game for myself. I'm rocking an '09 Mac right now, so I'm stuck in that department. However, I plan on having a gaming PC up and running by 2013, Windows 7 and all.

What do you mean you've got your hands full? Is that bad? Also, we plan on making just big terrain, not infinite.

They've been making remakes since before Minecraft. Minecraft itself was a remake of InfiniMiner.

Why are people suddenly attempting to make Minecraft remakes? Is it because of 1.4.2?
The only thing close to Minecraft in this game is blocks and crafting.
I was working on a texture pack, but then Minecraft updated so I stopped. So I do have some experience.

I'm not amazing, but I am alright. And by the way, If I was you, I wouldn't be trying to get the best of the best. Minecraft started out with pretty crappy textures but look at them now, you need time to advance instead of trying to get the best right up front.

I am very average with all of those, but I could greatly help with the sounds. I have some good background/title/menu/load music, and can get (or just plain record) realistic sounds. Is there a website or area that I can post these things other than on here?

I would HIGHLY recommend web-based, because it is different. Every sandbox building game I have seen is client based.
Will this be web-based or client-based? Unity does both, but not at the same time.
