Hey, I am planning on making a Minecraft game with Unity. I hope to make it for me and the developers along with a few other people. Please let me know if you can help wether it is programming/coding, modeling, ideas, or trying to help fix bugs or issues we have. (Especially infinite worlds!!!)

Sounds like a really legit idea, if you would like to relay the basics of unity(I've used it but never got good at it) then I would be very very willing to help!!

I'm very up for helping, and well I guess it all depends on what you need help with, I can probably learn the programming fairly quickly if need be, and based on the small bits that I've used the engine, it seems fairly easy to use, so yes, I'll help!

Hey, just wondering what will the gfx look like? If they are decent I would love to join.. I could help with the scripting, ideas, and 3d models. Could also help with server side stuff like authentication, website/forums etc.

Uhm, why would we do that? Sure Skype is good, but for long-term preservation of ideas we will need an effective way to collaborate, and IMing isn't good for something like this, it's good for brainstorming and such, but not a project like this
As true as that is, a forum is also not the best place for quick communication, as there is no easy way to tell if they are online or checking it, however if we do both, that would probably be best!

Okay, so what should the domain name be? I also suggest NOT ripping stuff off of Minecraft, I think we should only take the basics of it such as blocks and whatnot, along with that we could sell it for a small fee ($10-$15)

Well if we were to ever get a decent playerbase we will need a server for our website and authentication, maybe do something like Minecraft (Cheap to buy in Alpha, slowly rises as it gets developed)

What do you want the domain to be called? We should probably "Code Name" it until we have agreed on a name.
WOW! I have made a Minecraft clone with Unity before... I got almost everything from the real minecraft... The blocks, textures, sand gravity, mobs (except for wither, enderdragon, enderman, witch, ghast, zombie pigman, villagers, and silverfish), and I wasn't able to get Nether, Multiplayer or End into it. The two hardest things for me was Infinite World and Multiplayer. I never got those two of course. End and Nether = Relatively easy, I just gave up. I wish you luck on infinite terrain, if it's even possible (same algorithm as generating world = generate multiple worlds from walking- piece together through a different algorithm, somehow small save files?)

Ok, I'd be happy to help! If you plan to steer it away from Minecraft, take a look at Manic Digger. I'll probably be able to help with everything except for infinite terrain and multiplayer. (Multiplayer = possibly an .exe to send files back and forth? = Lag... Alternative?)
Multiplayer should be one of the last things we do, infinite world should be middle priority, we first need blocks to generate
Blocks to generate? Pretty easy; but not TOO easy; make level system, blocks model for each level; above normal level 1/85 chance of more blocks; that would be able to generate some hills, possibly mountains, but trees? Hm... Another group in itself? Caves? Would essentialy be the same as overworld; under 12 blocks 1/125 chance of no block, but one would lead to extra +40 chance (it worked for my old MC clone)
I think we should deviate from Minecraft, we might not even need an infinite generator if we provide an effective map editor or we could offer DLC maps (10 maps for free, maybe some premium maps)
