New Computer? HELP!!!!!
Hi! I have recently saved up about $350 (yay for me!) and really want a new gaming computer! Laptops and PCs are both awesome, my preferred price is below $400, but I can go up to 500, as I may be making about 200-250 dollars over the summer. I will be using it to play minecraft (duh), use large modpacks, homework and that kind of stuff, and other games on steam/online. If it is a pc please include the price of the monitor! You guys rock, thanks for the help!

Yes, hopefully. I can go with Linux if need be, but I have absolutely no experience with Linux.. So yeah...
Judging by you have at most $500 and you need a monitor, having windows would lower the total PC budget to around ~$350 dollars. Linux it is!

I left room in the budget for a monitor, since someone else would probably be better at picking one out then me. Other than that, the R7 250x should be a good enough gpu to play most games at medium settings at good framerates.

I wouldn't use Linux for a gaming PC. Most steam games don't support it, and Linux needs a SERIOUS learning curve. It isn't noob friendly at all. I'd use Windows. Over 1000 is still not the majority. And for someone who has NEVER used Linux, it will be very difficult to start. When I first used it, nothing told me what a repo was, or whether my drivers would work. Nor did I know how to install programs from a .tar
Well, a few months ago I needed to use linux for a week. I installed steam, installed some games, and played them. It was really easy.
Ok. I'll see what I can do. I think we jusssst might have an extra windows 7 lying around xD (dunno why). Yay, know which build Im going to do. Now I get to wait most of the summer to make that money, which at least gives me time to learn how to build it.
Oh, and which should I get? Because If I dont have that 7 I will buy whichever.
