I need a laptop for travel reasons. God I wish I could build my own. So do you think I would be able to play on max settings and what would I be able to record on (settings) can you also give fps esimates for both.

Apart from the slow 5400rpm hard drive, it is certainly worth buying, especially for it's CPU. I would try to find a model with an SSD drive, which is much faster, since it uses electrons to store data, or a 7200rpm or 10000rpm hard drive.
That computer is absolutely amazing.
Mobile or not, and 4th gen i7 is going to be great.
The mobile graphics (755m 2gb) are enough to run most modern games at high settings; it will kick butt at running Battlefield 3, I know that much.
You may want to look up some benchmarks of the laptop's components, to see how well they preform. It wont be needed, I can assure you, as these parts are really good.
The main concern I have is the 1 Tb 5400rpm hard drive. 1TB sounds fine and dandy, but have you ever considered what that 5400rpm meant? A hard drive has a spindle, which reads and writes data all the time. 5400 rpm (rotations per minute, I believe) is it's speed. 5400 rpm is a pretty slow hard drive. Given, a computer is typically only as good as its weakest link. Either way, this hard drive should work; however, it will be much slower then an SSD.
Most laptops have the ability to swap out your hard drive. So if you get this laptop, you have the option to buy an SSD, and swap that for the 5400 rpm hard drive.
Overall, it's a really good laptop. Look up some reviews on Google, if you'd like.
