Hello, i am making this to ask what will be the best parts to get to upgrade my old PC
to play better games (And animate) What i need: CPU video card (and thermal paste)
the games i would like to play are: CS:GO portal 2 maybe a few assassins creed games, my budget is 100$ (yes i know very low budget) i already have a list that i picked out and did some research but i dont know if it could run the games i listed (heres the list i made: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gXGpt6) so if anybody could help me that would be nice -lany

Yes, but at this point, upgrading your machine is a waste of money. Check out TTB500's comment.
What they're saying is that in order for a half decent graphics card to actually have much effect at all, you may need a better processor, but in order to get a better, more modernized processor, you would need a new mother board and sh*t.

You'd get a massive boost in graphics performance, but all that GPU power won't be utilized well as a result of the weak CPU.
Oh, what you listed? The CPU won't work in your system, and the GPU would give a pretty decent bump in performance. It would still be held back by the weak CPU.

The absolute best you can do for that system is getting the fastest Pentium D CPU with a 95W TDP (there are 130W ones that will melt your computer) and adding in a low-profile GTX 750 Ti. Even if you do this, the Pentium will be a major bottleneck for your system's performance.
You're best off saving a couple hundred dollars more and getting something worthwhile.

Regardless, the best CPU you can put in that system is something like a Pentium D 945 (which is ancient). You could use a newer motherboard and get a modern Pentium, but then you would need a new case, motherboard, power supply, and RAM.

You'd end up having to upgrade again in the near future, especially if you want to play any Assassin's Creed game.
For the price, it isn't worth getting an R7 250 but there's not much else to choose from if you set such a low budget. Spending $100 on a decent video card like a 750 Ti would improve gameplay much more than getting a low end GPU and CPU. Better to stick with your current CPU and just save up to upgrade platform rather than being stuck on your current platform of FM2
