Admin Stalkers

The real deal is that many of us play the game because we enjoy it.

We find a server with a really cool community and make friends. That is part of the fun.

However i have discovered a really dark side and it is a costly problem.

Where i live our currency is really bad and as such buying a new Minecraft account is expensive.

Well not only is it expensive it is hard to get. As stupid as it sound, when one lacks facilities anything can
be made difficult.

So This story begin at a family friendly server. This server is KNOWN to be safe and for a LONG TIME, I have to agree it was the safest
server i have seen in a long time. Now my family member also love the game and love it very much actually.

She use to play every weekend until few of the old Admins left the server and a few new Admins came on. Simply put we don't know
these players, we as players cannot identify them at all. We have nothing to go on.

Well one Saturday she played the game as normal completing a build with friends. Then she got this Admin contacting her on private
message constantly. The screen captures we took was insane. Basically a message every 15 to 30 seconds. Thankfully she told me
what was happening immediately as we where very open about the dangers.

This guy was pushing for her phone number, social media accounts and other chat accounts. He was relentless. We know it was a male
because he was very vocal on the voice server separate from the game. And really i feel he didn't really care if people could hear him or not.

So we send the screen captures to the Owner, along with the complaint and asked the Admin was to be removed. This went well and
the admin was removed promptly. All respect to server Owners they really DO TRY to help. Seriously a BIG thank you to all of them.

Months has past until a NEW Admin with a new name joined the game again. This time the tone was more harsh accusing her
that she was a snitch and all that type for stuff. The language was really bad. Now we decided to leave the server. We did and
changed the name of the account thinking that it would solve the problem.

Months later the same Admin found her on a different server. It became clear at this point that we had a problem. We contacted the
Owner explain the situation and he was removed again. A while later the situation repeated itself. Clearly this person had many accounts
and was somehow trusted and had Admin privileges or knew how to earn them very fast. How he accomplished this i don't know. I was
never an admin i don't know how it works.

So we googled, because at the time we did NOT know there was a unique identifier to each account. Once i realised this, we abandoned
her original account and registered a new one having to pay for it again. To date this Admin was unable to find her again. But many players
on the old servers was vocal that they had similar situations. So this was not an isolated situation.

The point i am making is Admins have a lot of info that should be private. Secondly this info can become a real problem for a player. Yes
we do realise there are bad players also. There are countless YouTubers that use cheats to mess with servers and that is no fun for anyone.

My question is as follow.

Why can't we request that the unique identifier not be changed at-least once?

Right now the victims are paying the price not the perpetrator and i feel it is wrong. I feel we should have the ability to protect ourselves and
our purchase. Yes it is only a game but it is still payed for by real hard earn cash in in the end of the day.

Did anything like this happen to you, how did you deal with it?

Right now my family and I don't play online on a public server anyone. I got my own LAN server going and it is not open to the internet at all.
It is as much fun... BUT the builds is a lot nicer larger and with friends visiting on weekends and Holidays it becomes a ton of fun sometimes.

So this is may little story. Yes it took me a while to figure out that the unique identifier was a thing. I am sure most of you knew about this from
day one. I didn't and that is on me. But if you didn't know about it. It is real and is how servers can identify and ban along with your IP info.

Please take care, please protect yourselves and those you love.

What is really scary to me is how easily bad things can happen on any online game.

For now the Lan server is doing its job well and i am not to worried but it was nice
talking to other players see builds and new ideas and stuff.

I'm sorry this happened to you, bro.

Try playing on Hypixel or other friendly servers. I found this small server called Galactico. It's small and has an OP staff! The IP is:

galactico.xyz

Also try this RPG one!

Was quite terrible to read, but here's some advice.

Change your IGN and Discord tag if there's an overobsessed wacko doing that kind of stuff.

The worst they can do is use their words. As long as they don't have your IP, you are okay. If somehow they even manage to grab an IP, anything done to it (doxxing, DDoSing, etc.) is a federal offense and can be reported to the proper authorities (atleast in the US, not sure what country you're in, but most places have laws against this stuff)

I've been doxxed before, and best advice I got is nothing bad can happen as long as it doesn't turn physical, as in having packages mailed and such, or having unwelcomed "visitors" show up.

Once again, sorry to hear about that. That crap can be scary. If it ever happens again, block them and /ignore them, reporting them was the best call in that situation.

Hi, Google really is an excellent tool and really i feel stupid sometimes not just searching for stuff myself.

Where i live our IP address isn't assigned to me personally or to any account. We use a mobile network. How it works in my country is if i turn the router off and back on again it obtains a new IP address from the ISP so even if they grab the IP it was useless. As for Discord we just closed the old account down and created a new account.

but i will look into this again once we go online again.

As much as you want to blame admins, this is just a human behaviour. The good, the bad and the ugly exist, and its not just restricted to admins. You're going to see this kind of personality everywhere in life.

Also the closest the admin can track your family member is probably using this: https://minecraft-statistic.net/en/players/
There might be another way they could've used, such as pinging every single server for your family mem's UUID
