Two groups of epic reptiles, one real and extinct, one fake and fire-breathing. Which is better? You decide...

I don't really like dragons but... Yea....
It look cooler than dinosaurs...
so I choose dragons.

Think about exploring deep caves... And then you find an open cave area. It's a new structure generated by the seed: the underground hall, new loot, new structures and every etc from a dungeon, but the most important thing! An epic underground overworld dragon sleeping in the treasure chamber!!! Who will say that is not so good as it sounds?

Aren't dragons just a specie of dinos?
GO DINOWS!
GO DINOWS!

-_-

Dinows*
1
Why though?
1
because... that's why.
2
Carcharodontosaurus and Velociraptor are overrated, but other than that dinosaurs, yha
4
Just like skywars maps. They died millions of years ago like the velociraptor. 😎👌
2
Carcharodontosaurus u just going to take that?
1
Can't argue. Its sad, but I can't stop it. It amazes me how much dinosaurs like that eclipse other cool ones in popularity like Acrocanthosaurus, Giganotosaurus, and the Troodonts.
2
Some would argue that Giganotosaurus and Troodon are more well-known than Carcharodontosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus. But yea, Acrocanthosaurus is a pretty awesome carcharodontosaurid, I'll give ya that. It's a lot more unique than all the others heh.
1
And yha, Skywars maps are dead no matter how much people like me try to revive them. Do you think their DNA was preserved?
2
True story. Carcharodontosaurus is awesome too, even though some people think it was larger than it actually was. I think we can both agree that Velociraptor is overrated. We can also both agree that Dinosaurs are better than Dragons. :)

Yo. Any of you ever heard about what a pack of Allosaurs can do to a 30-40 meters long giant sauropod dinosaur. Because from this vote, it doesn't seem like you non-archosaurian loving imbeciles do. A puny dragon doesn't stand a chance against an Allosaurus pack.

It's so true though.

Nice meme.

where's the option for kfc yo
at least i can eat that
at least i can eat that

Ya'll already know what I am gonna vote for on this one.

Ayy I needed you on this thread. We're losing this battle 😭
2
I got an idea for you. create tons of accounts and come to this forum and say dinos im guessin
2
Don't give them ideas lol

Dinosaurs are real. Dragons are fake. Nuff said.
3
I love dragons
4
Dragons would win in a fight, but I prefer dinosaurs!
3
i love both, but dragons a lil more!
2
Im sorry about when i yelled at u in the chat thingy and i hope u can forgive me but its ok if u cant because i wouldnt forgive myself if it came up to everything i say everyday for as long as i remember.
2
I forgive you. Let bygones be bygones.

Dragons definitely, a lot of creative flexibility in them. They're reflections of many different cultures and their legends.
As for flight/realism, who cares? It's a fictional being. Dragons don't necessarily have to adhere to any rules. You can construct yours as small as an iguana, or as big as mountain. Wings? Don't even need em my boi, look at lung dragons.
Although Dinosaurs are amazing themselves, including the fact that they once existed. It's mind blowing. However the idea of a dragon is still more liberating.

Dinosaurs are cool because they actually existed. But since dragons are fictional beings you can make them as cool as you like, the coolness just depends on the imagination.
3
dragons. J-Just dragons.
look at Smaug!!!
look at Smaug!!!
3
I'm a tolkien fan, so i'd agree. SMAUG RULES.
3
Never watched the Hobbit but I have SCENE LOtR all three
2
I'm also a Tolkien fan, so I like dragons more.
1
wahoo!
4
Being able to breath fire and (often) also fly is definitely superior xD
2
It should be noted that dragons could never fly IRL. A large one could never be supported by the atmosphere
3
well maybe, look at airplanes. they fly. birds can too, so why can't a dragon fly? now the combustion chamber for a stomach is a different story XDD
2
planes fly not with power generated by the wings, but by the engine. if a creature is too heavy, it cannot fly by wing power. that's why large flying creatures like quetzalcoatlus and argentavis mostly just glided.
3
Who knows, dragons dont even need to breath fire to be a dragon
And their stomach doesn't have to be a combustion chamber. How about a highly reactive gas that the stomach produces? Emitted (controlled) by the dragon and sparked in the mouth to cause explosions/flames/whatever chemical reaction... soooo mouth will be the combustion chamber...

2
maybe so XD upper teeth are made of flint and the bottom steel. no. when the teeth colide it emits sparks and when it touches this "gas" then it would cause an explosion/tongue of flame
3
fire breath is actually one of the more scientifically probable aspects of dragons. Most animals produce flammable gas naturally (even humans), and to light the gas, the dragon could swallow Piezoelectric crystals, which create sparks when they collide with one another.

Well, it would only have to flap its wings fast enough, right?
Cause in order to fly, there has to be a force equivalent between the dragon's gravitational force and the air it pushes down:
M g = m a
M g = dragon's gravitational force
m a = force with which air is pushed down by the dragon
M = dragon's mass
g = 9.81 m/s²
m = mass of air it pushes down
a = acceleration of air the dragon pushes down
So, no matter how heavy the dragon is, as long as it accelerates a certain mass of air fast enough it would fly ^^
The mass of air being accelerated depends on the surface covered by the wings and the acceleration depends on "how powerful" the dragon flaps its wings.
Meaning larger dragons would need larger wings and would have to flap harder but still would be able to fly.

earth's relatively thin atmosphere couldn't support a heavy creature that flies by wing power. that's why large flying creatures like quetzalcoatlus and argentavis mostly just glided. I suppose if it flapped like crazy, it might fly, but that would take big muscles, which would weigh it down further.
2
Right, sure it would need extremely powerful muscles, but I only wanted to point out that from the physical point of view it theoretically would be possible for a dragon to fly, no matter how heavy the dragon or how thin the atmosphere is.
As long as there is some air the dragon can accelerate, it is able to fly because then the term "m a" is not 0. And it mustn't be 0 in order for a force equivalent to exist because the term "M g" also is unequal to 0.
As long as there is a force equivalent, the dragon flies.
