Okay, let's face it, most members of PMC, including myself, have written a rant about a topic, thinking it will somewhat change the matter at hand. The thing is though, most of the topics we rant about, (Teen skins, Minecraft is dying, Butter etc.) still haven't changed. And let me tell you, there are A LOT of rants on this website, yet you will still see the problem turning up.

So I ask you, does ranting really help?

Nope. I rant to friends as a way to vent frustration.

Ranting only helps if it leads to action.
Ranting is no solution, just a tool.

And then there are those people who completely disregard what you have to say and are just like: "That is your opinion. I respect your opinion."

Some people feel that if they say something stupid and in the end add: "this is my opinion, and I respect yours so please respect mine" it will basically make it not ok for the others to challenge or question what they said, and that declaring any single statement "an opinion" and claiming to "respect" it is the hight of maturity.

EXACTLY. It really gets on my nerves, because it makes me look like I'm arguing with an idiot.. And it's also pretty much them saying: "You had a comeback I can't beat, so I'll just try to make myself look mature than you so I'll win."
pls dont do dis..

It's fun to rant, with that i mean it's fun to argue. You can put up with some really good points that way.

I see what you mean, I love arguing. It's just, people seem to be 'Exp farming' with their rants.

If anything, it makes things worse, in my opinion.
