Help I can't go on a server!

Guys I need help really bad I can't get on my favorite server! So when I try to join it says logging in for like 50 seconds and then it says this error.
Failed to connect to server
Internal exception:io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException
Please help! This is my favorite server ever and I really want to be able to play on it!
