ok so the deal is i got a new laptop...
i increased the minecraft RAM the fps limit, put the ingame settings to the fastest... and guess what, the lag is terrible, its like 8FPS its impossible to play... btw i set my ram to 4gb my max is 6gb.

Don't increase the minecraft RAM, it doesn't need it unless you have a 512x texture pack and the water shader mod. Doing that will just slow your computer down.
As mentioned, get optifine and play with all the settings. Also close every program while you play minecraft.
Since you have a new laptop, you should be able to use 64-bit java which wil give you a massive performance boost. Guide at the end of here:

Have you changed the default run path?
To verify you are actually using 64-bit java, open minecraft or your minecraft server. Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the task manager. Find java.exe and right-click it and select properties. If the location is ' C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin;' then it is using the 64-bit version of java.

you think im talking about running a server... nah m8 its just the game run its just too laggy to play.
This has nothing to do with a server. Like I said before have you set up the path for 64-bit java, because otherwise its installed but you are still running 32-bit when you use minecraft.
