I prefer Android over the iPhone. I've never been fond of apple technology. They haven't been creative lately. I believe that all they've been doing is making the phones and laptops thinner rather than adding new features. I'm pretty sure there's a version for iPhone called Crystal? (I dunno I follow android). It's kind of pointless, as there are something called cell phone cases, which can pretty much cover the phone and be any color or design. That is why I chose Android.

Android all the way.
1. Customization without rooting. You can install different launchers and themes.
2. Way faster. Look at the flagship phones for Android: 2GB - 3GB RAM. 801 Snapdragon processor, etc.
3. Way more functional software. Or the UI, depends on what company.
4. Storage expandability. Some phones come with 50GB free dropbox storage. Some comes with a micro SD card slot up to 128GB
5. iPhones are for elderly, kids, people who don't know about tech and always go for those popular companies because they have a catchy name.

I own a iPhone 4 (this is an old version too - the iPhone 5 should be compared to an S4) and my dad owns a Samsung Galaxy S4 and we were both testing it. Galaxy S4 (brand new) was super slow in calling, and opening up normal apps and whatnot. My dad wants to really throw it away because it gets him angry with all the glitches and speed when he is working, making him less efficient.
EDIT: If this becomes a bit flamy, I will have to lock.

I would choose an android over an iPhone for many reasons...
1. They are fairly priced. You won't pay an extra $300 for a phone. And it gets cheaper over time so you could buy a second hand
2. The screen of some androids have better protection from scratching compared to an iPhone. Seriously, $300 for something that gets scratches?
3. It's not always the same thing. You could see the new differences in each version of an android. iPhones just get bigger, thinner, and the new 5c for me was just an iPod touch in a new case.
4. Androids have better apps. You get cleaning systems, notifiers. iPhone's apps are just photo editors and games.

I own an android, and all my friends have IPhones and I see their phones mess up/break CONSTANTLY. I agree that the Androids are faster, and they hold a lot more data than the iphones (which is also customizable via SD cards). Also, I think IPhones are basically a social statuses shoved into an object because people think they are so much cooler with an IPhone.
My second opinion is that, Androids are just (overall) better than Iphones through customization, speed, storage, looks (in my opinion), app selections. More specifically, I absolutely LOVE the widget feature with the Androids. Don't know what widgets are Iphonies? Widgets can be dumbed down to a window on your home screen that does an action without you opening an application.

Not just my own iPhone, my sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, aunts and more.
My other aunt has an android, so do some of my cousins. I find iPhones better overall.
Also, I have widgets. Again, get a jailbroken iPhone. Best phone avaliable, IMO. As for space, never been a problem. I'm constantly downloading apps, taking pictures, videos and whatnot, with my 13 usable gbs, just upload things to a cloud and no problem. All iPhones I've used have been faster than every android I've used, and I love playing with phones xD
But, it really boils down to preference. I prefer iPhone, you obviously prefer Android, that's that.

Nope. "Unlocking" is in some states, I believe. Jailbreaking is like rooting an android system, but easier most of the time. It gives you more customizable options, you can change just about anything you want. I even overclocked my phone xD

It's a hard choice between android and a jailbroken iphone.
I've had my iPod jailbroken for a while, and I freaking loved it. You want glass icons? There you go. You want any game? Here it is.
But i do like android. I guess I'm just a sucker for customization.
