One of the best blocks they (mojang) ever created

Ehhhh...
I think not. The Nether stems — both crimson and warped variety — are real nice. Fun, animated textures for something that works like wood.

I don't say, that the nether stems are bad blocks; because they aren't bad; but personal I needed to build very often Building with a white elements and there are just 5 white blocks ingame. Wool - scrap cannot be used for anthing well except carpets because the blocks texture just looks to much like like wool and it's also burnable. Then there is concrete which is just mono colour - each pixel is only one colour. That might be good for huge buildings or modern buildings but honestly i have barly found a use for that block. Next is the Bone Block; ok that can be used for some good thing but its bottom texture is of not fitting in buildings. Most times smooth quartz is better; and than we reached the enxt white blocks; quartz. Quartz is wonderfull without doubt. There is nothing better for marble like. But often you want to build (at least I want to) something that doen't look Roman temple but is white - and that is where diorite has it big moment. Diorite is just a white stoney block ans that is what i makes so cool. In almost each city I built there are diorite buildings because diorite fits to anything. You can mix it with blackstone, with cobblestone, stone bricks or normal stone - yes even sandstone und prismarine. How I cound anybody don't like diorite?
Personal I have problems with grantie - that block is hardly to mix with others and never looks very good; but sometimes i can be used well for red/orange roofs.

I personally don't really like diroite; it's ugly, but I think it can look great when used correctly and carefully. Plus, I hate granite with a passion, so I still like the white stuff somewhat XD

Okay, actual, serious reply time: From a distance it can look like quartz. That's about all of the love i have for it. Goes alright with dark oak or spruce. The default texture is — well, something to be desired, so definitely a resource pack which makes it look better is nice to have.
There is some great variety in Minecraft, but compared to granite or andesite, it's underwhelming. Like most building blocks in Minecraft, it's situational and in the right situation it looks great.

With the new block Tuff, Diorite has the ability to go from a very ugly rather unused block, to a perfect block!
4
depends on its use in the situation

This is the kind of stuff you can do with diorite
This project I uploaded uses over 55 thousand pieces of diorite.

diorite was so bad they had to use smooth diorite
4
and that's why i voted "heck yes"
4
Holy crap am I blind? I thought the red one was for the 'no' vote and so I just voted yes.
I guess I get so annoyed with people hating it for no real good reason that I just glimpsed over the vote and quickly voted yes instead of 'heck yes.'

oh wow, thats really nice looking

Yes, for medievalist builds :).

best block ever

I don't hate diorite but I do find it to be the least useful of the three "new" stones. You can combine andesite with stone, granite with brick and diorite... It doesn't really match quartz because quartz has a rose tint so I'm not sure what to use it for.

waht do you mean by new its been in the game for about five years

i like diorite but i dont know why people get so touchy about it
1
Probably because prior to the 1.14 texture update the diorite texture was very harsh and not suited for building at all. Many players may still think about diorite this way even though it's not true anymore. (can relate)

I dont care but iskall would say no
5
i would burn it in a super smelter throw it at a cactus tell it to hug a creeper and burn its house down

so can you.
