Hello PlanetCraft! I recently installed Java 7 the other day and started playing Minecraft. At first join I noticed there was no sound, but I continued playing. After about 5 minutes of gameplay, the sound kicked in? I assumed there was something wrong with my game, so I had removed the .minecraft folder in my AppData and started a re-installation. During the installation, however, it froze while downloading the packages. (Re-attempted this 3 more time with the same outcome) Now my question is: Is Minecraft compatible with Java 7? At first glance, I would assume not, but then again, it can always just be my computer's fault. Any help? Thanks!

I would suggest sticking to 1.6.0_26, as that is the most readily available runtime for Java and the one that the auto-update should have you at.
It was fine the first time. >.<
The music doesn't kick in a lot during minecraft. I'm not sure on what the timing is for the music, but it's normal to not play constantly.

Not the music, the sound. As in footsteps, doors opening/closing, pistons, etc.
