Knife Thread
Anyone here collect / use / own / carry a knife with you ??? I thought that I would start a knife thread because I really am a FAN of pocket knives, fixed knives, and pretty much any kind of knife out there. If you have a knife, and you recommend it to someone to buy as either an "EDC" or what I like to call a "collectors" or "campers" knife, go ahead an discuss.

Here is my Winchester Bowie knife, at a MAJOR deal at $20.00, I recommend this knife to anyone who likes to hunt / survive. And it cuts through wood very well. ( I cut a small tree down as a test, and not a single damage was done to the blade nor the handle ).
And please post anything you'd like to discuss about any kind of knife. Whether its knife help, or great deals, just please reply and discuss!

we cant buy guns unless we own somekind of large plot of land in rural areas
ROFL? Where'd you hear this?
I mean if there were terrorists in the UK we would all die, our 'cops' carry metal bats, no guns at all unless its special forces squads. I mean you can get liscences for weapons, i have one and so does my uncle, we collect medieval weapons, we have a few bastard swords, a crossbow and a small throwing axe, which is nearly broken.

I should pay more attention in Social Studies on how the law system works.
tbh, half the people we arrest could get a lesser charge if they knew a little more about the law and learned their rights... The right to remain silent one i recommend people use more XD
But yeah, we would most likely charge you with possession of an illegal weapon but it would be a fine unless you had it on you when committed a more serious crime.
pipipipiPIPIand this thing...
I saw that, and my brain went here:

Damn, you can get arrested for having one? I thought it would be a fine or something.
Arrested does not = go to jail
Arrested = being detained / cuffed.
It means im taking you in to my custody. I can release you afterwords with a fine / warning etc.
Daddys little helper:

Well to be strapped to my tactical carry (PALS webbing) we're issued the PJLT model combat knife, mainly used for basic SERE (Survival, evasion, resistance, escape) implementation.
And of course the ole SW3B M9 bayonet, which let's be honest, doesn't see much live time.
Damn image is to big...

RoxthesoxP0CKETLINT13RoxthesoxAnyone know if butterfly knifes are legal in Canada, I want one.
The Criminal Code of Canada definition of a "prohibited weapon"
""prohibited weapon" means
(a) a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife, or
(b) any weapon, other than a firearm, that is prescribed to be a prohibited weapon;"
So yes, butterfly knives are illegal in Canada.
Damn, oh well.
Yea..

BUT THIS IS JUST PWNAGE!!!!

BUT THIS IS JUST PWNAGE!!!!

Awesome!! what kind of knife is that ?
You, my fine sir Studnicky, should use a rusty spoon. If anyone sees you defending yourself with a rusty spoon, they will GTFO and never ever EVER attempt anything ever again. Because nobody wants to be stabbed with a rusty spoon.
I don't think you really know what I meant. Here, let me show you some statistics. Baltimore has the highest murder rate per capita of any city in the United States. Home sweet home.
How many other cities do you know that have so much trouble tracking murders, that they had to put up an interactive map for it?

I find it interesting that they even color-coded it by cause of death..
That or they will laugh so hard they will collapse to the ground, giving you time to find another weapon.
Either way, it works.
Either way, it works.
indeed
creeperCarole.... however, the sword I bought for Wigliff cost $200. It would certainly work in the stabby-stabby department.
The two-handed axe was $95, the 1-handed battleaxe was $75, the daggers were $95 and $125, the pike was a steal at $75, and the morning star... that was a great buy at $65. I'll post a picture of the Wall 'o Weapons sometime.
I am clearly dating the wrong women, the best gift a girl has ever gotten me was a sketch-tablet for my computer, and I already had one...
I have owned many knives over the years, typically switchblades or butterfly knives. I've only ever had to use one to defend myself on a single occasion, which turned my habit of carrying one on me at all times into a compulsion. I no longer leave my room without my knife.
I own a couple 'gardening tools' - Two machetes I bought at a tradeshow that we used for a zombie-flick my friend was filming for school, a rather hefty hand-made axe from a renaissance festival that my landlord won't let me hang on my wall, and a replica of Glamdring I won in a raffle.
In terms of practical weapons, though, I currently have a Benchmade, which has lasted me several years. If you're looking for quality switchblades, that would be my recommendation. I keep an ASP in my car's door panel as well, which I ordered from the supply room while I was enlisted, just for kicks. Never really used it, but that doesn't mean I won't have to one day, so I keep it around.
There are two kinds of knives you could need-
1.) A steak knife. For food.
2.) A rusty spoon. For dealing with anything other than food.
1.) A steak knife. For food.
2.) A rusty spoon. For dealing with anything other than food.

Only knife anyone would really need.
You can't do the following with that knife:
* Skin an animal
* Cut down small trees
* Defend yourself with trust in your blade
* You can't kill most animals
* Cut most wiring, string, straps, Etc.
* ETC, ETC, ETC,
____________________________Conclusion,______________________________
That is not the only knife you will ever need. Unless you are unactive, and you sit inside all day like most obese people. Otherwise, I recommend getting a real blade for defence, and blades are very useful tools also.
