I'm leaving
Well... I think it's finally time to say goodbye to PMC and maybe Minecraft itself.
On PMC, I've been a little down lately on how much attention I get. I put lots of effort into my work and I'll get at most 7 diamonds or something lower than that. Never higher. I even made a skin that someone else did after mine and just because they were more popular they get 20 diamonds. It makes me a bit sad and I feel like no one really appreciates my work. So as a result, I am leaving. I could be doing much better things with my life than making work no one likes. I will still finish my map Steve's Journey and publish it because I wasted a whole summer on it, but after that, it's over. Goodbye to all my subscribers, people who didn't know me, or just plain anybody. I'm sure you won't miss or remember me.

I've noticed you on the forums before, but never actually checked out your profile sadly, well, its sad to see you go~
k, cya. What a useless thread.
Warning, I'm extremely rude, hold onto your bicycle.
Diamonds? Seriously? Sure its nice to have a ton of diamonds, but thats not what counts. Its the blotty downloads, mate. Especially since a ton of people who downloads your content may not have a PMC account, so views and downloads, they matter more than the diamonds. At least 60-80% of your viewers, are going to be people who don't have accounts.
Also, ironic you're saying you're getting 7 or under diamonds, and never higher, when your Clash Of Mines Resource Pack has 53 diamonds, 65,532 views, 12,309 downloads, and 11 favorites. I thhhiiinnnkk you're being dramatic. Or just an attention seeker.
Goin' for both, personally.
As someone said above, theres a ton of people on PMC. A majority don't even get noticed either, and some people are just driving on tires made out of sub backs (From people who do, "You sub to me, I sub back") and views, you're actually runnin' with wheels.
Also, if you're leavin', why did you argue with people? Theres no use! Why defend your point if your point is to stop doing what you're doing because you don't have enough people with accounts watchin' and doin' your stuff? You might'a well leave. If ye're doin' it cos its fun, then you wouldn't leave. This is just proving you WERE doing it for attention. Sure you may put effort inta your work, but it doesn't mean you weren't doing it for ATTENTION. Just means you were putting work into your work.
If it makes you sad you aren't gettin' attention and makin' you feel like no one appreciates your work (Which you apparently aren't even thinkin' about the non-account folks) and leave cos of it, why'd you make a forum post about it?
"cannot keep putting out content for no one to enjoy." //yelling PEOPLE WITH NO ACCOUNTS!! THERES SUCH A THING!!!! AND SAID PEOPLE MAY ENJOY YOUR WORK, ESPECIALLY IF THEY CLICKED ON IT BECAUSE THEY LIKED WHAT YOU POSTED ABOUT! AND NO ONE WOULD DOWNLOAD IF NO ONE LIKED WHAT YOU MADE!! THING CALLED PREVIEWS!!!!
Also, for the people saying, "I'd really don't want you to go" and such, stop feeding him! You're giving him attention he doesn't deserve for posting this.
Okay, bluntness done. Good thing I put this in a spoiler lmao.

If you were on PMC just for attention, then you really shouldn't have been here in the first place. As long as you enjoy what you are doing, there's not any reason to leave really. If you're just on here for attention, then get the hell out. It seems like you only posted this to get a pity party, and maybe even to get attention. If you wanna leave, then leave, nobody's stopping you.
Ew, a "pitty me" post.
Dude, I respect you in every way but you're missing the fact that there are 1,816,242 other members on this site with 1,256,067,918 other submissions. Your work is looked at regardless on whether it's 10 diamonds or 100 diamonds.
In fact, I don't even see your argument to why you're leaving. You say you didn't get enough diamonds on any of your posts but to be honest I'd rather have a submission with 12,309 downloads on a texture pack with less than 100 diamonds on it compared to a submission with 100 diamonds on it with only 10 downloads on it.
Oh wait...
http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_ ... -of-clans/
^That's yours, I almost forgot.

Best way to describe everything
Cripes - is there ungratefulness' scar here? Why post about "Oh, I've got many things to be happy for, but before I am happy I need views and 50 diamonds on each post."
If you want to leave, leave without creating a fuss. If you're really wanting to leave, then don't let others stop you.
Woah, don't get all mad at me - I'm just talking my opinion!

If you don't enjoy Planet Minecraft anymore, then don't let anyone tell you otherwise to stay. Go out and do something productive with your life! It's much more fulfilling.
I like the work you post. I guess everyone has to move on at one point. I hope you enjoyed your stay.

Lol I don't upload things just to get attention or anything. I just wanna share what I do on my spare time. That's tge reason I joined this community.
But I'm sorry to see it didn't work out for you
But I'm sorry to see it didn't work out for you
COME BACK SOON PLEASE

I wasn't very popular, hen I posted a WIP 3D texture pack and *poof* instant popularity.
Just post things that you are confident of and you will become popular.

If all you're worried about is attention, you're in the wrong place. You should make stuff because YOU enjoy it, regardless of what everyone else things.
I'm not trying to seem ungreatful for all the support that has been given to me but it just seems like before this post no one really cared. I do give many many many thanks to everyone who has supported me over my time on PMC though! I still have one final project for everyone don't forget
My dear man, we still don't care. We're all just a bunch of pretentious people that like to throw their opinions. Besides, seeing as how you have more than 1 diamond on every one of your current posts as well as 88 subscribers, saying no one cares is an insult to the people that gave you those.
The way you do write you do come across as being a little ungrateful for what you do have, and that's why I personally made my 2 cents about it.
Well, sad to see another go bye. Hope you had a nice stay at Hotel PMC. Please rate us on Yelp, and tell us how our service was, so we can always improve!
sorry about the joke, but still, hope you find something else good, Wish ya luck, mate.

bye

Your last post was 4 months ago. My last post was 5 months ago. I still get attention on a bunch of my posts for some reason, and seem to constantly (if slowly) gain subscribers. I guess that is because my work seems impressive at first glance, while blogs might not immediately.
Anyway, if you don't feel at home no opinion of mine or anyone else can keep you here.
Some advice for future creative communities you might join: See if you can find something that is fun for you to make, but also falls into categories of interest.
If attention is what you need, go for twitter. I've had an account for a year now and have been actively using it for about half of that. I've gained more than 100 followers without really trying to gain any. I think if you try you might pass the 500 or even thousand. And the reactions are much more frequent. If attention for your work is what you like, tweet your work.

Sad to see you go, especially since we had some good times. If you're truly not coming back, I wish you well, my friend. You're always welcome back, and message me if/when you do. Farewell... 'till next time...
I love everything you do I am always excited to see what new you have to do!

I'm not here for the popularity or the levels. It just makes me feel much better when my stuff has 50 diamonds than when it has 1 or 2, which means little to no one liked it. Think of it this way, would you dedicate 3 years of your life making a game so that no one would buy it, or spend 3 years getting ready to make NFL/NBA/MLB etc. and not get drafted? It's the same concept. I cannot keep putting out content for no one to enjoy.
Look at your Texture pack, "A link to the past," It has 50
Kindof funny here. Some of my builds have 50+ diamonds because they have been around for ages and are quite decent. also because I advertised the hell out of them.
I have 1 blog post that's a poem. Its not of particularly high quality, but it related to somewhat current events. On that post, I have somewhere in the 30 diamonds. I have no idea how, since I advertised it only a few times (then put it in my forum sig, but since when do people click that?).
30 diamonds for a blog that took maybe an hour to make? That's amazingly good for someone like me that doesn't make blog posts.
Then there are builds, which tend to attract a lot more diamonds because they look impressive on first sight. Only my best builds exceed the 50 diamonds, and I've yet to pass 100 despite being on here for 2 years.
Note that the builds that get 50+ are builds I have spent literal days on making. By that I mean hours spread over a longer period adding up into a total of several days.
Some of the best have taken even longer, and thats not even counting the nearly 3 years it took me to get to my current level.
In the meantime, you get nearly 20 diamonds on a texturepack that looks to me like it has 6 textures. idk how long it took you but I doubt it took as long as some of my builds.
All in all, effort isnt everything, you need to target it towards something people will appreciate. If you make an enormous effort to create a LEGO-mod but nobody uses it because Lego Worlds exists, you;re not gonna get the attention to pay off for the effort you expended. This is not just for this forum, but for life in general. Just putting lots of effort into something doesnt mean it will sell, whether for attention or for actual money.
That said, good luck on any future ventures and I hope you find another place that suits your needs. Maybe start an independant blog?

That's your problem right there, 50 diamonds is good but it doesn't make your other submissions any less valuable. Frick, I hardly get diamonds on my blogs minus for a few of my blogs but they still get views. You won't be happy with your progress if you EXPECT to get lots of diamonds. Sometimes people will view it but they don't find they are interested enough to diamond. So what!
And a blog/mob/project is very different to a full blown game. That is a poor comparison of things to compare to. Your attitude about how well you're doing is your undoing and what makes you unhappy with your submissions. I'm not getting much on mine but I don't take them down because they get poor views or little to no diamonds? Get over this poor attitude you're clearly displaying.

I've seen you around a couple of times in chat, I believe since you have an interesting name (after scanning your submissions however, I immediately recognized the CoC resource pack which I see a lot. Not being familiar with the game, I know it's for tablets (?)) and I'd like to say that a lot of people can relate to wanting 100+ diamonds on submissions they worked hard on, but you have to kind of realize that you're competing with at least 10k other members who are posting various submissions.
I don't think the NBA thing applies just because a player can get sick / hurt and isn't really easy as sitting at a computer placing blocks or writing code (I see you all there about to complain about carpal tunnel, that's not on par with a torn ACL). I just wanted to put my thoughts out that you shouldn't really make content just for others to enjoy as people have different tastes (ie. I hate SphaxBD, dude's cool, but don't care for his pack), you should really make content that you personally enjoy doing which is what PMC is about, being a community of artistic individuals.
Anywho, just my two cents, best of luck to you in the future, it's sad to see someone leave.

I'd like to point out you have been here for 2 years less than me, don't have people subbing you just because you are mod, and are still higher level than me. While your average work is less popular than mine, you have some posts that are far more popular than anything I have on my profile and as a whole your sub base is more active statistically on your profile than mine is, or at least the numbers would suggest that.
I don't think subscribers give XP? (Or am I wrong? I'm not pointing you out i wanted to ask why they don't for a while now..)
I have 4/29 submissions that are over 10 diamonds, whereas you have (dontevenwannacountthatmuch)/101 submissions that are over 10 diamonds (which still isn't very much in ways of diamonding) meaning 25 of my submissions haven't made it over 10 diamonds and some not even over 1. This is not very good, and keep in mind your skins are actually good and not just mod fans who like your stuff
Most of your posts get more views than mine
I am pretty new and sadly I didn't notice you
goodbye! and I hope you find a more fulfilling hobby
goodbye! and I hope you find a more fulfilling hobby
You shouldn't leave just because you aren't as noticed as some other people are (But you are level 54..), just stay and try harder to make amazing projects! (Not saying yours aren't already amazing)
Level doesn't matter much if you have only 82 people who subscribed to you for more
I'm around a lot and I almost never see you post... anywhere, regardless of whether it's to interact with the community in some way or to advertise the work you're posting. I don't think you can really complain if you aren't putting much effort into effectively advertising your work.
Sorry to see you go. Good luck!

I've been on chat quite often advertising and just chatting in general but people never really notice
