Never go for dell. There install a bunch of extra garbage on your PC/bloatware
for 1200$ you can get i7, a good GPU from nvidia probably geforce 640 or over, an SSD for main drive and 1TB hdd.

You don't need an SSD for gaming. Just saying.

That plus making it run Linux is the hardcore way.

As for what your asking for, Nividia GeForce 650, Intel i-5 quadcore, Windows 7, and whatever else you want= an ok computer.

Whatdya mean "hardcore", as in terribly difficult? Man linux is one of the easiest OS's I've ever used, and i still use it today

- 2ghz processor speed
- battlefield 3

Choose one.

If anything, if you're looking for a gaming PC, don't buy from any company that majors in home computers (hp, DELL, and especially Gateway).

Make sure it has dedicated graphics, not integrated (THAT MEANS IT SHOULD ACTUALLY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD).

You can go on sites like Newegg and Amazon and looking for PC's by iBUYPOWER and Cyberpower (the only brands I really know) or go on sites that allow for them to be custom built.

Give me an exact price that you would like it under. I will put together a compatible part list that you can buy all the parts and put them together.

If you don't want to build a computer, you will spend a LOT more for the exact same thing, but it does save time and risk.
