Hey so I was reading up on the latest news over at the Mc Forums when I decided to check out their mods page. When google chrome gave me this warning. Just wanted to let all of you who use that site and didn't get a warning to be aware of what you are downloading. If this is old news, I'm sorry, just found out now.

Its on the wiki as well. They posted on the Forums that it has to do with an advertisement so it should be safe. They claim

False alarm or not, this happened to me as well. Not only that but this warning happened on EVERY forum in the site I tried to enter. Now going a little of topic with mincraft forums, but I am getting the same warning with minecraft wiki, only the google safe browsing diagnostics page tells me it is much worse than minecraft forums. You can view it here.

It appears that the problem with minecraft wiki are ads. O well, I guess I will just wait until the owner peoples get it under control.

Also happens on the official Minecraft Forums for me.
But, I don't care. I'm just proceeding with caution and firewalling the crap out of my system (plus, it runs Linux, so I have a lower chance of getting a virus).

I got this also, It's just a false warning, you can proceed. When I clicked Proceed I didn't get a Malware blocked popup from Avast. So, I think it's just someone messing with the site trying to make people freak out. It will be gone once Curse fixes it.

I think the warning means that a link (such as a persons mod/texture ect.) contains a virus. So while the McForums may be safe, a link provided by a user may not be.

*Edit: Haha didn't realize ZaphodX already said this XD

It means somewhere they have some link to somewhere that has been flagged as malware. Happened before with an obscure link in our partners link exchange list.

Use [simg] instead of [img], it'll fit better. I've never gotten this before, but you should ask the Forum's staff. If you cannot reach them, I am unsure of how to help you.

All in all, unless you clicked on a users link, it's probably fine. Curse does a lot of things with Mojang, and is trustworthy. It's probably a false warning.
