For my birthday (Feb 2nd) I am looking for a new computer which will be a Dell Inspiron 15R. The current computer I have got is a netbook Acer Aspire One which is crap at running stuff like Minecraft. The Dell Inspiron 15R has a Core i3 processor but I just need to know when I get it will it run good on Minecraft and other high processor games?

20-30 FPS on lowest settings

How is that good?

BTW I get 60-100 on highest settings. <--- Is good.

I suggest focusing more on RAM instead of your processor.

Try going back a bit.
I would reccomend the i5, not the i3. My desktop has the i3 and runs most games at 20-30 FPS on lowest settings

I was saying, when compared to other processes at it's base, the i3 is not the best for gaming. Read first.

Just purchased it for Xmas... Best laptop I have ever owner. Runs games like a beast, has a Nvidia GeForce graphics card which can run Battlefield 3 on High Settings, and has 8 GB of ram so your never running slow....

Amazing price for what you get.

I used to think Acers sucked, but then I took THIS to the knee...

o.O I have exactly the same.. Perfectly fine comp for that price, though you could probably build a better one, to save a few $$$$

Don't take i3, take i5 or i7. (It'll last long)
Also, if you like to play games on pc, take 8 gigs of ram, and preferably a Nvidia Video card.

i think that i3 is one of the worst processors and the worst intel proseecor you can get for gaming, but as excision said, focus on the ram

Look for good processors + at least 4GB RAM ...

I have a i3 Intel core processor and 2GB RAM ...

Minecraft lags like crazy mainly because of my RAM (I think.)

The i7 is meant to be the best processor for games.

I don't think minecraft is considered a 'high processer game.' I would reccomend the i5, not the i3. My desktop has the i3 and runs most games at 20-30 FPS on lowest settings, but my laptop with the i5 runs games at a steady 40 FPS on medium to high graphics settings. I have had no experiances with the i7.
